Today, 4 members loaded into Utility 72 at 7am and made the 1 hour ride to Nesquehoning, Pa to see the progression of Rescue/Engine 72. Upon our arrival at KME, members got to the piece in the plumbing department as their skilled craftsman worked on plumbing the pump to all the discharges. Between the last visit and this visit, KME also had time to mount the body onto the chassis as well as mount the custom bumper on the unit. After plumbing is completed, this coming week, the unit will return to the paint shop to have the compartments on the body Linex'd and the body painted. Also at this time the pump house compartment will be installed. After that is completed, roughly a 1 week process, the unit will head to the final department for lettering, striping, wiring and to finish all the little items. Slowly but surely, the new Rescue/Engine 72 is coming to a reality.

On February 7 at approx 1136 hours the Brecknock volunteers along with mutual aid were dispatched for a reported structure fire, fire in the oven. Assistant 72 arrived on the scene with all occupants evacuated and light smoke showing from side alpha.

This afternoon at approx. 1308hrs the Brecknock Volunteers were alerted by Berks DES for an MVA unkown injuries in the area of Route 568 and Route 272. FP Captain Singerling was the first to arrive on location and confirmed two vehicles in traffic with negative injuries.

On January 26th at approx 0625hrs, Berks County Communications Center alerted the Brecknock Volunteers to assist Cumru Township Fire Department on a working 3 alarm fire. Initially, the Rescue Engine was instructed to standby at CTFD station 2, but while en route was redirected to the scene.

Tuesday, February 27th REN72 was dispatched to assist company 24 on a Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment. PD went on location to confirm 2 patients heavily entraped. REN72 arrived on location and was advised by command to begin patient extraction on the red truck.

Tuesday (2/20/18) Rescue-Engine 72 was dispatched to Route 10 to Assist. station 23 with a MVA with injuries. REN72 arrived on location to find 2 vehicles in the road way. 72 personnel placed step chocks on the vehicles and assisted cutting power to the cars.

Wednesday (1-31-18) REN72 was dispatched to 3202 Morgantown RD to assist St. 23 (Robeson) with a motor vehicle accident with entrapment. REN72 arrived on scene and assumed first due rescue, and noted a small truck on the drivers side with the driver still inside.

Today, Sunday, at 1007hrs Tanker 72 was dispatched to assist Lancaster 33 (Bowmansville) with a reported barn fire. Chief 33 (D. Leinbach) arrived on the scene and confirmed a full involved barn extending to a 2nd barn.

Saturday at 1453, Brush 72 was dispatched to the 1100Blk of Buckhollow Road in Robeson Township to assist Co. 24 (Geigertown) with a 2 acre brush fire. Upon the arrival of Brush 72, command instructed them to assist his units in the left flank of the fire.

The volunteers of Brecknock Fire Department hope that everyone got to enjoy their Thanksgiving with lots of family, friends and food. 5 members of the department's forestry team however sacrificed half their holiday (0700-1200) to deploy to the Mt Penn fire which started Monday evening.
