Engine, Rescue, Utility and Brush 72 headed to Governor Mifflin High School for the 41st annual Community Days (http://www.communitydays.com/) Fireworks Show with a crew of 12. On the final day of the week long festival, Greater Governor Mifflin League (GGML) hosts a large Fireworks display by International Fireworks. Units staged on Waverly Street while members enjoyed the various carnival food until 2000hrs when Chief Lutz met with Shillington Fire Chief Bentz and receive Brecknock's orders for the evening. Chief Bentz requested Engine and Rescue 72 to relocate to Cumru Elementary School at 2100hrs and standby there for the fireworks display. Engine and Rescue 72 were tasked with running calls in the general area as those units were not committed to the show and could easily access the area unlike units at the school. Brush and Utility 72 were requested to assist on the High School property with the fireworks display. Those members were tasked with ember patrol and to assist patrons in the event of an emergency during the show. The show started at 2200hrs, as scheduled, and lasted approximetly 23 minutes. The show went off without a single incident. All units returned to station at 2330hrs.
Brecknock Fire Company looks forward to assisting with the 42nd annual Community Days in 2017!
