As the Apparatus Replacement Committee continues to search out the proper replacement for the 1995 Emergency One Rescue Truck, the 7 of the 9 members took the 75 minute ride to Nesquehoning, PA where KME apparatus are built.

For the past 8 months, a selected group of 9 firefighters have been challenged with the process of replacing the 1995 Emergency One Rescue truck. With the apparatus approaching 20 years old, replacement is in the near future.

Today, The Brecknock Township Fire Company received notification from the Pa DCNR (Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources),that we were awarded a grant in the amount of $11,000.00 for the purchase of forestry fire gear.

Brecknock Volunteers took a day to go to the Camp Adahi (CampFire USA) for a fire prevention detail for the summer campers. Engine and Rescue 72 headed to the Camp with 5 volunteers. Firefighters showed a fire prevention video to the children, showed them our firefighting gear and equipment.

The Brecknock Twp. Fire Company provided 24hr. fire protection starting Wednesday (10/2/13) at 6pm until Monday (10/7/13) at 8am for a total of 110hrs straight at the annual Mello-Yellow NHRA Auto Plus Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway.
